Project Overview.
Bechtel has been appointed by The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) to provide Construction Management Services for Phase II (BSVII) of The BART Silicon Valley Program.
The Program extends the BART system 16 miles from City of Fremont in Alameda Country through the cities of Milpitas, San Jose and Santa Clara in Santa Clara County.
Phase II (BSVII) of the project is an approximately six mile, four-station extension, linking the Phase I terminus at the Berryessa/North San Jose BART station to the Santa Clara Station in the City of Santa Clara.
BSVII is planned to include a single-bore tunnel, three underground stations, one at-grade station and a maintenance facility.
Job Summary.
The Technology Implementation Lead (TIL) leads the development, configuration and implementation of the approved digital solutions on the project.
The TIL facilitates administration of digital tools, data interoperability and analysis to enable dashboards, KPI and general reporting to support construction management services (CMS) for the BSVII project.
The Technology Implementation Lead reports to the Project Information and Data Manager and will work closely with the members of the construction management services team to implement the technology/ applications required to deliver the project in a data-centric manner including data reporting and KPI dashboarding responsibilities.
This role is part of the Project Information and Data Manager (PIDM) team.
The Technology Implementation Lead will be responsible for maintaining a high field presence and connection with users and stakeholders to perform training, build awareness, support, troubleshoot, and collection of feedback of digital and innovation solutions deployed.
#LI-VB1 Major Responsibilities.
Assists the PIDM in the implementation of the Digital Delivery Management Plan.
Liaise with all department leads to understand technology requirements.
Works with the PIDM and to ensure the application requirements are consistently deployed in the tools and technology.
Coordinating with the client and Bechtel IS&T teams as appropriate to ensure information accessibility and security are set at the right level.
Setup and provide training on digital tools/applications for all new and existing employees on project (one on one and small groups).
Drafting, issuing, and maintaining user guides for the project tools, processes and solution being deployed.
Supporting the implementation Unifier, ACC and other tools’ workflows enabling design management and construction management work processes, such as.
daily reports, inspections, interface management, submittal reviews, claims, and other processes.
Troubleshoot problems with applications in a timely manner.
Provide status on technology utilization.
Applying leadership skills to manage appropriate support to CMS team members.
This includes proactive engagement and training, as wells as communicating and coaching the expectation and purpose behind use and application of the tool.
Digitalize work-processes for information that is shared by multiple stakeholders by capturing, integrating, visualizing, analyzing and reporting in a structured manner.
Working with each CMS department managers and contractors to deliver data to project KPI dashboards Contributing towards the goal of reducing data re-entry, single-pane-of-glass concept, paperless execution, efficient automated workflow, easy access to information by close interaction with reporting team.
Identifying improvement opportunities for input and output transaction pathways for individual applications and related integration (Primavera P6, Aconex, Unifier) either directly or through a Common Data Environment (CDE) by working together with the PIDM and client digital teams.
User Acceptance Testing of new tools and/or changes to existing tools.
Education and Experience Requirements.
Recognized degree (MS/BS) in engineering, construction management, computer science, data science, or equivalent with 9+ years of experience in the AEC industry, or associate degree with 15+ years of AEC experience.
Experience deploying and managing tools in the field on construction sites.
Experience with Oracle Unifier, ACC/BIM360 and GIS preferred.
Experience with Microsoft applications such as PowerApps or Fabric is preferred.
Required Knowledge and Skills.
Capacity and desire to learn automation and software application subject matter (Oracle/SQL queries, scripts, procedures, lookups, troubleshooting).
Strong data management and Power BI skills Excellent interpersonal skills, and servant leadership style.
Ability to work autonomously within the Project role and interface with a wide cross section of project personnel.
Works in a fast-paced project environment with ability to respond to changing priorities from different levels of the organization.
