Project Overview.
Bechtel is partnering with NextDecade to support their vision to provide the world access to lower carbon intensive energy with their Rio Grande LNG (RGLNG) project in Brownsville, Texas.
RGLNG is a natural gas liquefaction and export terminal situated on a 984-acre site on the banks of the Brownsville ship channel.
The first phase of the RGLNG project consists of three liquefaction trains, two storage tanks and one marine berth.
At full capacity, the five-train facility will have a production capacity of 27 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).

In this role, you will monitor and organize subcontractor planning, safety, quality, and technical activities on a complex project with multiple stakeholders’ involvement, through the coordination and instruction of subcontractor’s management staff.
Your field supervision will help ensure operations are planned to coincide with overall established schedules and that work methods are planned and executed safely.
Major Responsibilities.
Monitors and organizes subcontractor activities, through coordination and instruction of subcontractor’s management staff within the area of responsibility.
Role supports projects of moderate complexity and few stakeholders involved.
Prepares construction drawings and sketches.
Develops planning construction methods and procedures.
Develops projections and schedules for workforce, material, and equipment requirements Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements Implements and enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management.
Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents Coordinates engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.
Coordinates with Design on constructability issues.
Role supports on mid-size projects of medium to high complexity with multiple stakeholders’ involvement.
Monitors subcontractor construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements.
Reviews subcontractor construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements.
Coordinates the construction operations impact on external interfaces to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules.
Enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management.
Supports Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents Education and Experience Requirements.
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or years of relevant work experience Required Knowledge and Skills.
Knowledge of a single or multi-discipline construction or engineering operation.
Knowledge of Bechtel’s Zero Accident Philosophy.
Knowledge of the Project ES&H Handbook, the Supervisors ES&H Manual, the Project Safety Management Plan and the Bechtel Core Processes.
Knowledge of the Six Sigma program tools and methodologies.
Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities.
Knowledge of Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPPs).
Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications in accordance with current Bechtel Standard Application Program (BSAP) standards.
Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment.
Knowledge of the use of subcontracts, and the contractor and subcontractor’s responsibilities contained in subcontract documents.
Experience working with, supervising and administering subcontractors and/or Direct Hire workforce.
Knowledge is normally acquired through.
recognized degree in an engineering or scientific discipline, or Specialized courses in construction technology and management, and/or Prior practical work experience leading to a thorough understanding of the knowledge described above.
Additional Information.
Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to.
extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces.
Some lifting may be required.
Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress).
Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.
.
harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).
