As a Senior Game Designer, you will be at the forefront of this evolution, where your design and development skills will significantly impact our thrilling projects.
Responsibilities.
Hands-On Design & Implementation.
You will actively design, prototype, implement, and refine game mechanics, systems, and features directly within the Unity engine.
In-Engine Expertise.
Utilize built-in Unity tools (like Cinemachine, Timeline, Particle System) and custom tools effectively.
Experience creating or working with Behaviour Trees or similar visual scripting/state machine systems is key.
Tool Collaboration.
Clearly articulate needs and collaborate with the engineering team for efficient design implementation.
Balanced Design Philosophy.
Generate innovative ideas while evaluating their technical feasibility and alignment with project scope and deadlines.
Ruthless Prioritization.
Evaluate design choices and make tough decisions to focus on core gameplay and timely delivery.
Iterative Development.
Adapt designs based on playtesting feedback and evolving business needs.
Strong Collaboration.
Work closely with engineers, artists, producers, and other stakeholders to communicate design vision effectively.
Documentation.
Create and maintain clear design documentation while prioritizing in-engine prototypes.
Required Qualifications & Skills.
Proven experience as a Game Designer with a portfolio showcasing shipped titles or significant contributions to projects.
Strong proficiency with the Unity engine, comfortable with daily tasks within the editor.
Experience implementing gameplay using Unity's tools, such as Behaviour Trees, State Machines, and visual scripting.
Excellent understanding of core game design principles and player experiences.
A pragmatic design approach that balances creative ambition with technical realities.
Ability to prioritize tasks and make decisions under pressure to meet deadlines.
Experience in agile, iterative development environments.
Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, suited for a fast-paced startup culture.
Adaptability and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications & Skills.
Basic C# scripting ability within Unity to understand and make minor modifications.
Experience with Level Design principles and implementation within Unity.
Experience in a Producer or Project Management role or familiarity with project management tools like JIRA, Trello, or Asana.
Interest or experience with blockchain technology, NFTs, or Web3 gaming concepts.
