SENIOR DATA ENGINEER

In the Software Development department, the Data Engineer will be instrumental in designing and implementing data-driven strategies that enhance our clients' capabilities, especially in the financial services sector.
Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain high-performance data pipelines (ETL/ELT) to effectively integrate data from diverse sources into cloud data warehouses like Wasabi and Snowflake.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to thoroughly analyze requirements and implement data solutions tailored to meet specific business needs.
Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in Python, adhering to established industry best practices and coding standards.
Perform debugging and troubleshooting to ensure the quality, performance, and reliability of data pipelines.
Implement data validation, cleansing, and standardization processes to maintain data integrity.
Design and implement data models that align with business requirements, aiding efficient data analysis and reporting.
Utilize scheduling technologies such as Airflow or Prefect for automating data workflows.
Participate in code reviews, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in data engineering to introduce innovative solutions within the team.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, with a strong background in complex data processing and analytics.
Proficiency in Python, Bash, and Shell scripting languages.
Solid understanding of Linux-based systems and containerization technologies (e.
., Docker).
Extensive experience in database design, development, and SQL; knowledge of PostgreSQL Timeseries is a plus.
Skilled in building and managing ETL/ELT pipelines from various data sources.
Experience with cloud data warehouse/storage solutions, particularly Wasabi and Snowflake.
Familiarity with data modeling and quality processes.
Knowledge of scheduling tools like Airflow or Prefect, along with container orchestration (Kubernetes experience is a plus).
Experience with Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence is advantageous.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities for effective collaboration.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
Desirable Skills While not mandatory, candidates with experience in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence or a strong understanding of container orchestration tools like Kubernetes will stand out.
Familiarity with modern data integration techniques and tools will be seen as a distinct advantage, enriching the team's skill set.
