MINE ENGINEER

October Teck Alaska Incorporated, Red Dog Operations, one of the world's largest producers of zinc concentrate, is recruiting for a Mine Engineer   Rotation schedule will 2 weeks on-site with 2 weeks off-site   Reporting to the Principal Mine Engineer Responsibilities.
Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures Complete assigned work in a professional manner including necessary measurements, calculations, analysis, interpretation, reporting and recommendations Provide technical support and coordination for short-term and long-term projects between departments, vendors, and contractors Improve mine processes and procedures by evaluating new technology and recommending implementation where cost effective Support both short- and long-term planning efforts as required Liaise with other engineers and geologists to get assistance in the development of plans and designs Prepare reports on productivity analysis, mine design, and mine planning Communicate effectively with operating and technical groups to ensure optimum utilization of resources Develop an understanding of the company’s organization and work flow to develop a strong network within Other related duties as assigned Qualifications.
Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field One (1) to five (5) years mining industry experience Mine planning experience in an open pit environment is an asset Project work exposure is an asset Must be proficient in MS Office Suite and Windows environment with advanced abilities in MS Excel Working knowledge of mine planning software (e.
.
Minesight or similar) is an asset Strong interpersonal communication (written and verbal) skills Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment Capable of working with all levels of the organization and in a team environment About Teck Red Dog is a drug/alcohol free workplace and employment is conditional upon passing a background check, physical examination, and a drug/alcohol test.
