Having been founded in in Coventry, at the heart of the West Midlands industrial and manufacturing industry, Pailton continues to operate from its headquarters located in Coventry, supplying to customers on a global scale.
A exciting career opportunity has become available for a Managing Director to join Pailton Engineering.
The focus of the role will be on driving a culture of continuous improvement and customer experience whilst executing a strategic business plan, designed to optimise performance and business growth.
Job Description To control aspects of the business and the balance sheet including forecasting and budgeting, alongside the CFO.
Provide leadership across the engineering, manufacturing and operations departments, providing effective mentoring and development of the team with a focus on people, culture and engagement.
Review of manufacturing processes and procedures for effectiveness and continuous improvement focused on increasing gross margin, reducing waste, raw material costings, improving quality, reducing lead times and improving overall customer service.
Delivery of sales growth through a broad OEM customer base of mid volume original equipment vehicle manufacturers, across off-highway, commercial and military applications.
Install a positive working culture of financial performance and profit growth.
Strong focus and understanding of health and safety metrics.
Identify CAPEX requirements and provide clear return on investment business cases for such plans.
Ensure development opportunities for the teams through qualifications, skills development, mentoring and coaching.
Develop strong relationships across the business to understand the market.
Conduct regular OEM customer visits and site visits to ensure customer satisfaction.
The Successful Applicant A well-rounded Managing Director who has broad P&L experience and a strong precision engineering and manufacturing background with demonstrable experience in quality, continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.
An SME Managing Director who has ideally progressed through operations and quality assurance into an MD role.
Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making.
Hands on/can do attitude, with an open and likeable personality, who demonstrates honesty and integrity.
Can operate equally effectively in the boardroom and on the shop floor.
Leadership style; informal, inclusive, visible, structured, empathetic but directive.
People focused, down to earth approach, who has the flexibility of thinking that would suit an SME environment.
