Project Overview.
Join us as we make history at the Hanford Vit Plant, known as the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant.
We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal.
Your efforts will help protect the nearby Columbia River and the communities, salmon, and wildlife along its shorelines throughout the Northwest.
Sitting at the confluence of the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers near two mountain ranges, our community provides access to year-round outdoor recreation, 300 days of sun a year, more than 200 wineries within a 50-mile radius, and the amenities of large cities just a three-hour drive (or short flight) to Seattle and Portland.
Job Summary.
As the Engineering Automation Engineering Group Supervisor (EGS), you will be responsible for supervising automation engineers and executing assignments in support of engineering.
This position has technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, and coordinating these assignments.
This involves exploration of the subject area, definition of scope, and may involve the development of novel concepts, approaches, and solutions.
Additionally, you will be interfacing and coordinating software development and integrations between engineering, procurement, construction, and the client.
The ideal candidate will have solid experience in automation and innovation design with a strong understanding of the integration of engineering systems and software.
In addition, it will be required that the candidate have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), and can be the “face” of Bechtel, promoting our leadership, quality, and safety values, to external partners including vendors, construction companies, and other subcontractors.

This position is a full-time role located in the Richland, Washington project office, and works a 9/80 schedule, offering every other Friday off.
Major Responsibilities.
Applies engineering software/data management support and integration expertise to a broad range of computer-aided design and engineering software that support EPC work processes.
Understands primary Bechtel engineering tools (i.
., SmartPlant, ANSYS, Tekla, and Bentley) or similar Off-The-Shelf tools and has a complete understanding of how upstream and downstream users are impacted by engineering data.
Schedules and monitors work activities and budgets.
Understands Engineering, Procurement, and Construction data integration  Leads others in software activities across software applications and in support of software and database upgrades.
Develops documents related to data management, data integration, data quality, automation planning, etc.
Uses excellent oral and written communication skills, collaborates with GBU and Project functional representatives, and customers to elicit requirements to support implementation activities.
Effectively influences actions and opinions of others.
Coordinates and collaborates with product vendors to relay requirements, as needed.
Ensures automation-related procedures and work processes are maintained and followed.
Education and Experience Requirements.
Level 1 Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited college and 8 -10 years of relevant experience or years of relevant work experience​ Level 2 Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited college and  years of relevant experience or years of relevant work experience​   Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities.
Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site.
(Even if teleworking, must still be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge) Must possess the right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.
Extensive experience using 2D and 3D software products and associated work processes  Extensive experience working with users and management regarding data integration and software solutions  Extensive experience with database designing and maintaining, integrating, and transforming data and databases  Experienced eliciting and developing requirements specification to support database design, data integration, data transformation, data quality, and software development  Extensive experience working with users on data and software issues  Experience researching new software and technical solutions,  Working knowledge of software development lifecycle  Working knowledge of reviewing and executing complex automation activities and providing guidance for their solution  Experience presenting automation related activities to management   Experience in software quality assurance and configuration management/control on NQA-1 projects  Experience working with supervision to provide input to personnel reviews and performance  Experience coaching, training, and mentoring others through demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills  Broad experience budgeting and scheduling work activities  Previous Bechtel and/or DOD or DOE project experience Experience using Bechtel Standard Applications (Inspec, SETROUTE, etc.)  Conversant knowledge of data security  Knowledge of Bechtel Corporate guides and standards  Lead or supervisory experience on large projects  Professional Engineering License (or ability to obtain within 12 months)   Total Rewards/Benefits.
