ENGINEER OR SCIENTIST, WATER INTEGRATED PLANNING

June   Reporting to the Lead, Water Management the Engineer or Scientist, Water Integrated Planning is responsible for managing and supporting the implementation of mine water management processes.
Duties will include the support of water management at active and dormant mine sites, support the assessment and upgrading of water management infrastructure, drought and flood preparedness, support water supply and security, coordinate and prepare management plans and tracking of water Key Performance Indicators in alignment with the Teck Water Governance Framework.

Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures Support managing risks through effective implementation of site water management Implement water management tools, in alignment with long term site water management strategies and regulatory authorizations Identify operational water supply needs, water quality, infrastructure risk, and assist in the development of feasible mitigation in coordination with stakeholders Ensure regulatory commitments related to Water Management Plans and Water Management Facilities are met Prepare and review data and reports to meet regulatory and other commitments, including presentation of technical information to a variety of audiences Support other initiatives that contribute to water integration into mine planning and continual improvements Support  internal and external financial deliverables related to water management facilities   Qualifications.
Engineering or Science Degree in civil, environment, hydrology, hydrogeology, or other related field Relevant professional accreditation, or eligible for accreditation Minimum five years experience leading development and implementation of water management programs, and risk evaluation of water quality and quantity in an industrial environment  Experience in cost modeling and data analytics Experience in project management and delivery Technical knowledge of federal and provincial mining water practices and regulatory compliance preferred Benefits.

$   The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
