Reporting to the Vice President, Legal, the Corporate Counsel will work with our internal Corporate Development team by leading and supporting transactions and due diligence focused on M&A and joint ventures.
Additionally, this position will provide support for other corporate or commercial matters.
The preferred candidate will have strong M&A experience, commercial acumen, and negotiation skills with the ability to work collaboratively and lead multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities.
Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
Draft and negotiate corporate transactional agreements including purchase, sale joint venture  Organize and lead internal and external deal teams Organize and lead diligence for transactions Advise on general corporate counsel matters including tax reorganizations, commercial and other activities  Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal partners Assist with corporate governance requirements, continuous disclosure obligations, and general regulatory compliance matters Qualifications.
Minimum 4 years of legal experience in corporate transactions including M&A with significant exposure to establishing joint ventures  Juris Doctor Degree (J.
.) or Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.
.) required Eligible to become a member of the BC Bar required Experience overseeing or leading transactional deals through completion required Ability to manage multi-disciplinary transaction teams and coordinate external advisers Independent, Self-starter with strong organizational, prioritization and time-management skills and able to manage multiple time-sensitive projects concurrently required Strong negotiating and commercial acumen skills required Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required Experience working on mining or other natural resources matters is a strong asset Why Join Us?
