Project Overview.
Bechtel Mining and Metals offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the mining sector across multiple commodities including Iron Ore, Bauxite, Alumina, Aluminium, Copper, Gold, Coal, Lithium and Rare Earths markets.
Headquartered in Santiago, Chile, the M&M global business unit also has offices in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in Australia along with execution units in the United States, Peru, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, India and other project locations around the world.
Job Summary.
In this role, you will participate in subcontract formation and/or administration.
Subcontract formation includes leading preparation and review of bid request packages and developing project contracts operating procedures.
Subcontract administration includes continual progress review, forecasting, and communication of difficulties.
Your work will ensure subcontract compliance with project requirements.
This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project.
Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.
Major Responsibilities.
Subcontract Management Implements the Supply Chain Assignment Schedule which records the Project’s agreed assignment of various subcontract management tasks and the Standard Work Process Procedures applicable to Subcontract Management Manages assigned subcontracts maintaining a continual review of progress and providing management with information regarding projected financial or technical difficulties  Coordinates with designated staff on operational activities affecting contractual rights and obligations, subcontract performance, and other major matters  Manages less complex contract changes by negotiating with customer personnel and obtaining settlement  Subcontract Formation  Conforms and ensures subcontract execution  Directs negotiation in the commitment of subcontracts  Prepares bidders’ lists and pre-qualifies bidders  Forms bid request packages and issues bid request packages to approved bidders  Other responsibilities as designated.
Education and Experience Requirements.
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience   Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities.
Experience in formation activities prequalification, tender and award of small to medium sized contracts, construction contracts and services contracts.
Demonstrated skills in working and communicating effectively with other project functional groups.
Experience in administering small to medium sized contracts, construction contracts and services contracts.
