BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST (CONTRACTOR)

The Business Systems Analyst is primarily responsible for supporting the Product Owner, Maintenance, to turn intake demand into qualified demand for technical delivery teams.
They will occupy the solution discovery portion of the software delivery lifecycle, supporting the development of solution intake, work breakdown structures / backlogs, business requirement, functional requirement, and test cases among other areas.
They will primarily work with product owners, customer success, business working committees, and delivery teams.
Responsibilities.
Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures Collaborate with management to understand business needs and translate them into system requirements Conduct thorough analysis to identify areas for improvement within existing systems Conduct aspects of solution design, working closely with technical teams to ensure that proposed solutions are feasible, scalable, and integrate seamlessly with existing systems Develop detailed business requirements and functional specifications for system enhancements and new system implementations Facilitate communication between business units and IT teams to ensure clear understanding of project objectives and deliverables Design innovative solutions to business problems, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic goals Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures Support system testing efforts, including the creation of test plans, test cases, and coordination of user acceptance testing (UAT) Provide ongoing support and training to users, enhancing their ability to apply system functionalities effectively Continuously monitor system performance, proposing and implementing enhancements to improve efficiency and user experience Qualifications.
A university degree in Business Administration / Commerce, Information Technology, or Engineering preferred 3-9 years of experience in a similar BA or BSA role responsible for a portfolio of business applications Superb communication, facilitation, presentation and training skills; able to effectively advise on business process improvements Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills i.

skilled at identifying and analyzing large volumes of information, able to develop a deep understanding of key issues quickly (business processes and system related), meticulously analyzes and investigates the business problems independently and in collaboration with the technical team proposes options to management in simple business terms Ability to work well in a team environment and handling multiple assignments simultaneously with tight deadlines Good understanding and working experience with Portfolio Program and Project Management Tools, SDLC methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, and Iterative), Business Analysis tools, diagrams, and methodologies Familiarity with Mining or Natural Resources industry is desirable  Experience working within a heavy industry maintenance organization Any experience with Maintenance & Work management.
ERP applications / embedded maintenance modules such as Maximo, SAP, Oracle is preferred Experience working in large organizations, at Enterprise, Business Unit, Operating Unit levels A general awareness of Information Technology disciplines, including Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, Cloud Computing (SaaS), Cyber Security, etc.
Proficient in the use Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and SharePoint (O365 preferred)  Experience with Change Management (eg.
